Overview

An exceptional and modern Chartered Accountants just outside of Tunbridge Wells is on the lookout for a NEW Assistant Accountant / Semi-Senior to join their busy corporate services team. They are well-established and pride themselves on providing a relaxed and welcoming working environment.

This is an excellent opportunity to be part of their growing outsourced finance department, working closely with clients across a range of industries. Your mixed background from either practice, industry, or both, will be highly valued in this varied and interesting role.

This role is Monday-Friday 37.5hrs with a hybrid working structure.

Salary is dependent on experience/qualifications.  Higher salaries can be discussed.

Duties

• Assist with preparing accounts for companies, partnerships, and sole traders
• Support the outsourced finance function including management accounts, bookkeeping, and VAT returns
• Prepare corporation and personal tax returns under supervision
• Liaise directly with clients, building trusted relationships as their go-to finance support
• Assist in year-end accounts preparation and reconciliations
• Use a range of online accounting software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
• Collaborate with colleagues in the wider corporate team to deliver an excellent client experience
• Contribute to workflow management, ensuring deadlines and compliance standards are met
• Gain exposure to both practice-style compliance and industry-style management reporting

What we're looking for

A successful candidate for this role will be able to demonstrate some prior UK practice accountancy experience (or ready to make that first step with good industry experience), ideally be AAT qualified (or part-qualified), and keen to progress within a client-facing accountancy environment.
