Account Handler Assistant (Trainee)

Full-Time | Salary: Negotiable | Flexible Hours | Career Progression Available

Are you ready to kick-start your career in a fast-growing, specialist insurance sector?

Our client is a well-established Insurance company, and they are currently looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Account Handler Assistant (Trainee) to join their dynamic team.

Whether you’re just starting out or looking for a fresh challenge, this is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience, receive structured training, and work towards professional qualifications – all while building a rewarding career.

The Role

As an Account Handler Assistant (Trainee), you will support the sales and servicing of insurance.

You'll be a key part of the New Business Team, providing excellent service to clients, brokers, and colleagues. You’ll assist customers through the entire process – from initial enquiry to policy completion – ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently.

This role comes with full on-the-job training and the opportunity to work towards a Cert CII qualification, fully supported by the company.

You’ll also have the chance to attend industry trade shows across the UK (approximately 8 per year), helping to showcase services and build client relationships.

They are seeking someone who is:

  • Bright, personable, and confident in dealing with clients over the phone and by email
  • Highly organised and able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Enthusiastic about learning and ready to grow within a professional setting
  • Accurate with strong attention to detail – especially when working under pressure
  • Computer savvy, particularly with Microsoft Excel and Office products

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5 GCSEs or equivalent (Grades B or above in Maths & English)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Customer service would be great, but it’s not essential – full training is provided.

What’s In It For You?

  • Structured training programme, including support towards Cert CII
  • Real opportunities for career progression (e.g. into underwriting or account handling)
  • 25 days pro-rata annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Flexible working hours
  • Contributory pension scheme (currently 4% employer / 4% employee)
  • Group Life Insurance, Personal Accident & Income Protection cover

If you're looking for a supportive and professional environment where you can build a meaningful career in a niche sector – this is your chance.

Apply today and take the first step towards a career with long-term potential.
