Overview

A modern and forward‑thinking organisation is looking for a NEW Finance Manager to join their team in Lewes.

Working closely with the Financial Controller and the wider finance function, this is a key role responsible for ensuring complete and accurate accounting records, supporting month‑end close, and managing all UK and overseas VAT return requirements. You will also have line management responsibility for a small transactional finance team too.

This position offers varied exposure including SOX compliance support and involvement in the Netsuite migration project scheduled for Q2. A fantastic opportunity for someone looking to grow their skillset within a supportive and collaborative environment.

This role is Monday–Friday, 37.5 hours with hybrid working.

Salary is dependent on experience/qualifications. Higher salaries can be discussed .

Duties

• Manage the day-to-day transactional inputs ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Line manage the transactional finance team (UK & Malaysia), providing support, guidance and relevant training.
• Manage daily cashflow requirements.
• Maintain clean accounts payable and receivable positions, ensuring timely reconciliations and stakeholder communication.
• Ensure accurate and timely credit control processes.
• Own the preparation and submission of all UK and overseas VAT returns, ensuring compliance with monthly deadlines.
• Support in preparing weekly working capital and compliance reporting.
• Provide cover across the finance team when needed.
• Support the Financial Controller and Head of Finance with delivery of all monthly SOX requirements.
• Assist with the Netsuite migration project in Q2.

What we're looking for

A successful candidate will have 4-5 years strong UK finance experience and have worked in a similar position. Multi-currency, Overseas VAT and Group Accounts experience would be advantageous. You must live within a 1hr commute of Lewes.
