Health and Safety Manager in Sevenoaks!
We’re recruiting for a well-established and growing building services contractor in the Sevenoaks area, operating across heating, electrical, mechanical and refurbishment projects.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety professional who wants more than a desk-based compliance role.
You’ll be out on-site, working closely with operational teams and senior management, influencing safe working practices and helping to shape a strong, proactive safety culture across the business.
If you’re practical, confident, and passionate about improving standards, this is a brilliant next career move.
You’ll combine site inspections, compliance, RAMS, training, investigations and continuous improvement, while acting as a trusted point of contact for managers, employees, subcontractors and clients.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll have real autonomy and the chance to make a visible difference.
What you’ll be doing:
- Taking ownership of health and safety policies, procedures and management systems
- Carrying out regular site inspections, audits, and compliance reviews
- Reviewing and developing RAMS to ensure they are practical and effective
- Ensuring compliance with UK health and safety legislation, including CDM Regulations 2015
- Investigating accidents, incidents and near misses and implementing preventative actions
- Managing health and safety accreditations, including SafeContractor
- Supporting client audits and pre-qualification questionnaires
- Identifying trends, risks and opportunities for improvement
- Helping to drive a positive, accountable and safety-focused culture across the business
About you:
You’ll ideally have experience as a Health and Safety Manager, Health and Safety Advisor or a similar senior H&S professional, ideally within construction, building services, mechanical, electrical or facilities management.
- NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation
- Good working knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015
- Experience with RAMS, site inspections, audits and accident investigations
- Experience managing contractors and subcontractor compliance
- Confidence working with site teams, clients and senior stakeholders
A full UK diving license and willingness to travel to sites is essential.
NEBOSH Diploma and IOSH membership at TechIOSH or CertIOSH level would be advantageous.
What’s on offer:
- £55,000 per annum
- Full-time, permanent role
- Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
- A varied mix of office and site-based work
- Genuine ownership of Health and Safety across the business
- Direct involvement with senior management and operational teams
- The opportunity to influence standards, behaviours and processes
- A role where your input can make a real difference to both safety and business performance
- The chance to join an established and growing contractor with a strong reputation in its sector
If you’re looking for a Health and Safety role where you can take ownership, influence change and have a real presence across the business, we’d love to hear from you.
