The Role
As a Legal Secretary within the Conveyancing Department, you will play a key role in supporting fee earners and ensuring the smooth running of a busy and successful team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence and legal documentation
- Preparing and formatting legal documents from handwritten notes and digital dictation
- Scanning, emailing, filing, and distributing documents efficiently
- Opening, maintaining, and closing client files accurately
- Preparing bundles and photocopying documentation when required
- Handling telephone enquiries professionally and taking detailed messages
- Managing diaries and coordinating meetings for fee earners
- Providing administrative support across the department during busy periods
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience as a Legal Secretary, ideally within Conveyancing
- Strong Microsoft Word skills, with knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint advantageous
- Excellent organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
- A professional and confident telephone manner
- The ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines effectively
- A proactive, flexible, and team-focused approach
- A sound understanding of confidentiality and client care
