A highly regarded law firm based in Tunbridge Wells is seeking an experienced Real Estate Legal Secretary, Legal Assistant to join their successful team.

The Role
Working as part of the Real Estate team, you will provide essential support to fee earners in the delivery of high-quality legal services. The role will involve assisting with a wide range of Real Estate transactions, supporting the team with file management, documentation, transaction processes, and post-completion matters.
Key Responsibilities Include
Real Estate Finance, Lending Transactions
- Opening new files, preparing case management documents, risk assessments, conflict checks, and assisting with client care and KYC, AML requirements.
- Preparing draft correspondence, schedules, and transaction documentation for review by fee earners.
- Managing due diligence documents, downloading and organising files within iManage.
- Assisting with preparation of loan documents, reports on title, completion statements, undertakings, and transaction paperwork.
- Supporting completion processes including payment forms, verification checks, searches, and key deadline management.
- Assisting with DocuSign preparation, execution processes, and completion certificates.
- Supporting post-completion activities including billing, Companies House registrations, Land Registry updates, transaction bibles, and compliance checks.
- Maintaining transaction trackers and updating spreadsheets to monitor progress for key clients.
Real Estate Finance, Security Discharges and Lender Consents
- Opening files and preparing draft correspondence for review.
- Managing sale information packs and supporting document preparation.
- Preparing draft release documents, undertakings, completion paperwork, and supporting post-completion requirements.
Commercial Real Estate
- Opening files and assisting with client care documentation.
- Requesting KYC and source of funds information.
- Obtaining and managing title documents and due diligence materials.
- Preparing draft contracts, transfers, leases, rent deposit deeds, and related documentation.
- Assisting with reports on title, SDLT returns, requisitions, completion statements, and transaction administration.
- Supporting completion processes including searches, payment forms, and registration matters.
- Assisting with financial administration and client account processes.
Skills and Experience Required
- Previous administrative experience within a legal environment.
- Understanding of legal processes and procedures, ideally within Real Estate.
- Strong IT skills including Word, Outlook, Excel, and legal research databases such as LexisNexis or PLC.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Ability to manage deadlines, prioritise workloads, and work effectively under pressure.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A willingness to develop knowledge and expertise within Real Estate law.
